My Head Feels Like A Bruise
This is the tale of my helix stretching. Ok, I got my first piercing when I was just about nine or so. I got my lobes pierced.
I loved it till they were given infected due to poor aftercare because I was dumb.
So I got them re-pierced when I was in middle college. Then when I was sixteen, I got my first cartilage piercing, a top helix.
It was awe-inspiring. I took care of it, and I wanted more, but the old lady would not take me to get it done. So I settled on 2nd lobe piercings when I was seventeen. Then when I turned eighteen, I got more helix piercings. I first got my other top helix done on my 18th birthday.
1 or 2 months later I returned to Wal-Mart ( I know, bad idea ), and got both helixes done. That was the coolest thing in the world. I now had my top helixes, both 20g, and regular helixes, at 18g. I started stretching my lobes after I had all of my cartilage piercings. I believe I was at roughly a 10g in the bottom lobes and 12g in the second holes when I first had the idea of stretching my helix. I thought this would be simple and mild, because I suspect it just failed to sound unpleasant to me. Boy, was I wrong. DUH! It’s cartilage! Let me note that if you’re going to stretch your cartilage, do it SLOW! Do it one size at a time. So I proceeded to stretch. I attempted a 14g in one of the top helixes. OOOOWWWW!!!! Bad concept. It was only like a 20g and then I forced a 14g taper in and follow with a 14g 1029;” barbell. Oh, man, did that hurt!!! So after a couple of days of this keeping me up at night and making the day tough to live thru, I made a decision to take it out. It was regarded as having a gigantic bump on it for approximately another week, although I put the 20g back in. It was tough to do anything with it injuring like that. I could not shower without it injuring, and I could not put on a shirt usually. Oh, God, how I just wished to put on a shirt without needing to stress about injuring my poor ear. Since that time I have stretched all of my lobe piercings to a 4g, sized the second lobe piercings back to 10g, and back to 6g, and my tongue to a 6g, and I just got my lip pierced five weeks back. And I can not wait until I am getting the jewellery to stretch that. But I thought I required something.
I contemplated stretching my helix, but I failed to know if it was even safe, until I began seeing photos of folk with theirs stretched on BME. So I made up my mind, I was about to do it. So first I got a 16g labret stud and it went in simply. Likely because I had been wearing an 18g in it since I got it done. Therefore I let that sit there for some mins, and lubed up the 14g taper and proceeded to stretch. It went halfway thru fine.
But when it came to the 14g part, it had been a little more difficult. However it went in without too much discomfort, and no bleeding. So, I put in a 14g horseshoe. It is healing up nicely, unless I sleep on it, which I did yesterday evening, which made it extraordinarily tender and sore. It works out because I have actually short hair so it does not get caught in either one, and I haven’t got to stress about brushing my hair. Therefore I liked it. So much, I had to do the opposite side. This went just as smooth as the opposite side, and I put another 14g horseshoe in. I am not going to lie. It is doing hurt, even as I am typing. The agony is not just restricted to the hole, and not only my ears, but my full head. My head feels like a massive bruise. I’ve had a recurring headache for a couple of days, however it starts to feel a little better. I can not wait to stretch to a 12g, and then some. But I’m definitely going to take my time. I’m going to delay until I do not feel any agony . I definitely don’t suggest this to folks who can’t deal with agony. There’s a fair quantity of discomfort linked with this.
It is not so bad if you stretch it slowly, but do not try and do it all at the same time. Others have submitted stories about stretching cartilage too fast, so I think you may refer to that. Meanwhile, I’m going to look forward to writing about my future piercing / stretching / tattoos. Au revoir.
